Check out this week’s “Spinning Back Clique,” MMA Junkie’s Weekly Live Show that takes a spin through the biggest topics in mixed martial arts.
This week’s panel of Mike Bohn, Nolan King and Danny Segura will join “Magnificent” host George Garcia Live at noon ET (9 a.m. PT) to discuss and debate the following topics:
-
Usman Nurmagomedov was able to retain his Bellator lightweight title, but not without a fight. Nurmagomedov outpointed Paul Hughes of Ireland in a competitive bout in the main event of the PFL Road to Dubai Champions Series on Saturday. We break down this big title fight and some of the other key results from the card.
-
MMA wasn’t the only sport last weekend. BKFC’s KnuckleMania 5 dropped last Saturday, and it hosted the hometown return of former UFC and Bellator champion Eddie Alvarez against Jeremy Stephens. Unfortunately for Alvarez, Stephens had his hand raised, as Alvarez had a corner stoppage between rounds 3 and 4. Immediately after the fight, Stephens had a homemade faceoff with Conor McGregor. Additionally, “Big” Ben Rothwell crowned himself BKFC Heavyweight Champion after knocking out Mick Terill in just 36 seconds. We react and review the Bareknuckle boxing action.
-
Conor McGregor is back in the headlines. The UFC superstar was all over the card, as he was on hand for Donald Trump’s presidential inauguration where he met Logan Paul, with whom he had public discussions over a potential boxing match. Additionally, he was in Philadelphia promoting BKFC’s Knucklemania 5. We discuss the last people with the Irishman.
-
Global Fight League had its draft, taking its first step towards inauguration this year. On Friday, the newly minted MMA promotion held a draft show, where executives from six teams chose 20 fighters from a pool of hundreds of notable MMA fighters, including many former UFC and Bellator champions. We react to team selections and this new format in MMA.

Looking ahead, the UFC returns with a fight night event across the seas. UFC Fight Night 250 is going down this Saturday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and it features a big middleweight fight between Israel Adesanya and Nassourdine Imavov in its main event. We previewed this fight, and others on the card, including Shara Magomedov vs. Michael Page.
